Overview

A Design Engineer specializing in BIW (Body-in-White) Jigs and Fixtures is a key player in the automotive manufacturing industry. They are responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing jigs and fixtures used in the Body-in-White assembly process. The primary objective is to ensure precise alignment, accurate positioning, and efficient assembly of automotive body components, contributing to the overall quality and productivity of the manufacturing process.

Skills Required/ Job Description

Develop concepts, 3D finish and 2D detailing of BIW fixtures.
Proficient in concept design of Geo stations, Re-spot, Grippers.
Knowledge and understanding of BIW manufacturing processes.
Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding).
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and consistent ability to achieve deadlines under pressure.
Effective communication skills.
Well versed knowledge and experience in BIW Fixture Concept Designing

Qualifications and Skills:

A bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Understanding of BIW assembly processes and automotive manufacturing.
Knowledge of materials and their properties, with a focus on selecting appropriate materials for jigs and fixtures.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
